It began in the mid 70’s. I would crawl in bed for a good night’s sleep, but several hours would pass and I would find myself still wide awake. Of course, I would have to drag myself through the following day, as I could barely function on only a few hours of sleep. Thus began my quest to fight insomnia. I tried meditation, relaxation techniques, hypnosis, deep breathing, etc. At first nothing worked, but I kept at it and even though it took a long time, eventually I mastered deep breathing and my insomnia pretty much disappeared.
Insomnia still plagues me on rare occasions, but now that I'm retired, I’ll just get out of bed and work on my website, www.FunnyPhotosContest.com for cute or funny photos and photo captions until, I finally feel sleepy and can return to bed.
